The first Flower Street Festival to celebrate New Year will be launched on Wednesday night at Ly Thai To King Monument Square in Ha Noi.

 Five Vietnamese records will be set at the festival: two 15 meter dragons made with fresh flowers, the biggest paper fan, the longest pottery street that recreates the scenes of Hanoi Ancient Street, the first ao dai collection made from flowers and dried leaves, and the biggest gate made from bodhi-leaf-shaped fans.

The festival, which ends January 4, is one of many activities celebrating the upcoming 1,000th anniversary of Thang Long (the former name of Ha Noi).

The Flower Street Festival is organized by the Hanoi Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism in association with the Vietnam Culture and Arts Exhibition Center and the DC Music and Entertainment Joint Stock Company.
